Stainless steel sculptures are fabricated in high quality stainless steel, either 304 or marine grade 316. Some sculptures are made in Corten steel and others are left to attain their natural patination, in these cases the steel gauge is increased to ensure longevity in the outdoor environment. Holding pattern - Pete MoorhouseThis sculpture is part of Moorhouses Human series. This body of work explores the human condition often using the strength of steel to enable unlikely forms to be created, at times defy gravity. In this sculpture the figures in corten steel can be seen to be working together to support the figure above.
PETE MOORHOUSE His abstract and contemporary figurative works are typically aesthetically minimal emphasising form with strong clean lines. Analogies and metaphors from philosophy, science and theology are visible in many of his extraordinary pieces telling of Petes fascination with and exploration of the boundaries and connections between science, religion, art and nature.
